CAPA has been instructed to negotiate new lease terms with landlords of 160 stores run by A Levy & Son, the fashion chain owned by clothing retailer Blue Inc.
A Levy & Son was placed into administration in January 2016 to undergo a corporate restructuring process. Neil Bennett and Alex Cadwallader of Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group were appointed as administrators.
Blue Inc had owned A Levy & Son before putting it into administration and later buying back some of the stores.
CAPA has now been engaged to negotiate new lease terms with landlords of the 160 A Levy & Sons stores. CAPA’s expert Property team will now look to secure lower rents and shorter leases throughout the portfolio of stores.
The Property team has worked on lease restructuring negotiations on many large retailers across the UK for the past 13 years. Negotiations with landlords have been conducted with firms such as Bonmarchè, which has undergone a turnaround process.

Brantano instructs CAPA
Find out moreCAPA has been appointed to conduct a rates audit on Brantano - the shoe retailer that entered administration in January 2016.
Brantano was bought by retail investment firm Alteri Investors in October 2015 from Dutch-based Macintosh Retail Group. However, after the company faced challenges arising from changing consumer habits and a fast-evolving retail market, administrators from PwC were called in.
CAPA has now been instructed to undertake a rates audit on a portfolio of stores.
A team of auditors from CAPA will use bespoke software to audit rates charges to discover any overspend or error. Once discovered, this overspend will be recovered and generate cash across the portfolio.
The same service around rates management has been provided to various other retail chains in the UK, including JD Sports.

Founded by a small team of snow sports obsessed individuals who saw an opportunity, Snow+Rock was launched in 1982, with the first store opening on Kensington High Street, London.
CAPA will now manage the service charges across all the retailer's sites, and recover any amounts that have been overcharged.
This service is already provided to the parent company, Cotswold Outdoor, covering 41 stores.
